Who: Rise Kujikawa and Open What: Rise is practising her cheers for her job this month as a peppy cheerleader. When: Today, 4th September Where: The Park Warnings: No warnings... that I know of anyway. ( Read more... )
[While jogging out in the park, Kai looks around a bit savoring the beautiful scenery...until she spots someone doing some moves in a cheerleading outfit.
And failing horribly (in her opinion)]
[Oh my god...]
[So distracted, she almost looks like she was going to hit a tree, but fluidly gets out of the way with a twist of her foot and her back.
Rolling her eyes at herself, she continues to look back at the girl practicing and raises an eyebrow.]
[Rise had been practising for hours, but eventually gave up and went to sit down when she thought it just wasn't going anywhere. She thought that it would be much easier if someone had more experience to help her, but she didn't know anyone who could.
Once again picking up her water bottle, she went and sat down on the grass, out of breath and tired.]
[She saw the girl try for 30 more minutes before she sat down and drank her water. Kai meanwhile sighed and stretched a bit. Watching the girl made her remember when the new members of her squad got so frustrated when they practiced for hours. It made Kai smile.]
[I should lighten up a bit and be of help to her. I remember all my newbie teammates getting so steamed when they couldn't get a certain move set right.]
[When she got done stretching, she walked right over to the girl and introduced herself.]
Hey. That was some routine you had earlier. Did you make that up yourself?
[Rise paused mid sip as she looked over seeing someone there. Removed the bottle from her mouth, she placed it down next to her as she stood up.]
I did, but it's only so I can practice moves, I will properly be given another one when the games come around, but to practice certain moves now would work for later, right?
[Kai then has a look of understanding and smiles.]
Oh most definitely. This makes me so excited for you! I love watching the cheerleaders at games and competitions, and seeing the job listed up for it got me excited for it again! Hopefully the stadium gives you lots of room, since foosball is not really a huge table and they may give a smaller room for it...
Hmmmm...
[Kai starts to look down, has her hand on her chin, and starts to think for a few seconds.]
Are they going to allow you to move around a lot or just make you do clapping, ground formation, and cheering?
[Rise stood there, thinking for a moment. She was told basic things, not much to go by, but she figured they didn't have to do anything too bad, since odds are most who signed up aren't training to do the dangerous stuff.]
Well, I know that odd are people who signed up might not be skilled enough to do the more dangerous stuff, I know I can't do it.
[She goes and walks around, giving a small area of the park in which she was practising.]
I'm also guessing it would be more than this amount of space. hat's about all I know, I guess basics would be easiest, but maybe the audience might want more.
[Really? lol @ you Kai for thinking they could do something like a double down or various basket tosses. You gotta stop having extremely high expectations or people will stop liking you again.]
Really? You could have fooled me. Even though you're a little green move-wise, you look like you were made to cheer. I mean you have the perfect figure, face, and hair~!
[Kai then gives her a wink and with her hand close to her face pointing upward]
Well it so happens, that I know a few special basic moves you can be able to do. You don't have to be extravagant, but you won't look like a plain jane either~.
That is...if you're willing to let me help out... [Gotta be polite, don't be pushy!]
[Stunned by her eagerness and sweet manners, Kai mentally pulled herself together and soon was pretty interested in the girl's famous past.]
Wow really? That's pretty amazing. You'll probably pack a full house then if you have an Idol past. Idols always draw in a huge crowd~. I would be glad to help!
[Pulling herself from the girl, Kai walked around the area, examining it and talking back to her.]
Now since you used to be an idol, I'm guessing you already know pretty good dance moves and take good care of your body exercise wise. We don't have to worry about warm-ups. What we CAN do, is basic cheerleading jumps and motions! It'll be perfect for a small stadium and you'll still stand out.
[Kai then turn towards her and pulled out her hand.]
[She watched quietly, this person seemed really nice and help. It was nice to be able to make other friends besides the ones she already had. Smiling she nodded slightly.]
Yeah, but I think here that doesn't mean anything.
[It was a shame though, if that could of got a full house, then she would have, maybe the boss might have even liked that fact, but for now she makes due to what she has.]
I do know some dance moves, part of being an Idol means having to memorize a lot, from lines in a movie to dance moves for the stage.
[Still keeping her cheerful smile, she listened to all the girl said, she must know a lot compared to her.]
Prepare for Wall of Text! I'll try and not make this into a habit everytime I respond. XSkaigreenSeptember 15 2011, 01:58:46 UTC
Nice name Rise! Now the first thing we are gonna practice are our motions. We probably won't spend a lot of time on them since you already know some, but it's still good to know the names of them.
Here is part one!
[Kai grabs two makeshift pompoms and gets in position in front of Rise. She then bends her right arm on her chest and makes it point towards her left side, with her left arm facing straight on as well. Afterwards she brings both arms close to her chest and her elbows close to her waist.] The first move is called the "Bow and Arrow" while the move I just finished is called "Daggers".
[She then puts her left hand on her hip while shooting her other arm straight into the air. Afterwards she places her right hand on her hip, keeping the left hand in the same place] These moves here are pretty self explanatory. The upward arm position is called "Punch!", while the latter move is called "Hands on Hips"
[Kai soon forms a V with her arms upward, then downward. Then shifts her arms to where they form left diagonal, then right
( ... )
[Rise was paying close attention to the movements that she was shown, with which she followed, moving her arms into position.]
So... this is Bow and Arrow.
[She moves her arms once more, making them go into a new position, different from the last one.]
Dagger.
[While she moved her arms once again, she started to notice the fact that the names were starting to make sense, the positioning looked very much like the name is was given, which would make sense in a way considering otherwise it would be random.]
Ugh, Sorry for late reply! >_<kaigreenSeptember 20 2011, 03:20:01 UTC
Awesome, you got this! Now for part two.
[Kai then moved her left arm up to her upper left side, while her right arm crossed to her left and pointed downward, making the motion look like a "K". She then made the same motion on the other side of her body. Afterwards, Kai moved her arms to where it was forming an Uppercase "L" on both sides.] These moves are also a simple set! The first move set is called Left K and Right K, while the latter set is Left L and Right L.
[She moved both her arms straight over her head, and then straight down. Kai then straightened her arms out to her sides, forming a "T", and brought the pompoms close to her chest.] Now this is the final set! The first set I did was the touchdown combo~! The high part is called Touchdown while the one after is called Low Touchdown. The move where I spread my arms out was called T while the latter was called half T.
And that's basically it for moves! Now we can move on to basic jumps, which thankfully is not as much as what I just showed you. You ready?!
[Rise paid attention as best as she could, following the movements as she went, hoping that they would stay in her head if she kept it up. Once she felt like it was enough she nodded slightly, feeling like now was a good time to start practising more and learn more for the future.]
Okay, I think I am following. So I'm ready to the next bit.
[Kai claps her hands and gives Rise a smile.] Ok! For each jump I show you, it will slowly get more difficult, but I assure you it is still basic. Here are the jumps!
[Kai just straight up] That was the Pencil jump. You can also call that a T jump too but...I dunno why.
[She then jumps with both her legs and arms spread out, looking like an X.] That was the Spread Eagle jump.
[Kai jumps up high, begins to form her legs in a split position, then stretched her arms in front of her and over her legs.] That's the Toe Touch. Strangely enough, we don't touch our feet in that one.
[She jumps twice this time; The first one with her bent knee facing the ground and her other leg straightened and facing behind, all the while her arms straighten over her head. The other movement is the same, only her bent knee faces Rise while her arms form a "T"]That combo was the Hurdler and Side Hurdler
( ... )
[Now they were getting harder, she new it. Trying her best she managed to do the Pencil and Spread Eagle well enough. But when trying the next lot was a lot harder and each time she tried she managed to mess it up in some way.]
This is really hard.
[She tries again a couple more times before giving up and sitting down on the floor for the meantime.]
How can you do all that and not mess it up easily?
And failing horribly (in her opinion)]
[Oh my god...]
[So distracted, she almost looks like she was going to hit a tree, but fluidly gets out of the way with a twist of her foot and her back.
Rolling her eyes at herself, she continues to look back at the girl practicing and raises an eyebrow.]
Mmmmm....at least she's practicing.
