Despite the flowers, there's a terribly awkward pause. She knows that name for more than one reason, but it doesn't seem to matter.]

So you knew her.

[She picks her mask up carefully, then retrieves the shoes as well. There's no way she can continue on at the party in such a state. As she approaches Ezio, the dress drags through the grass, rustling pleasantly.]

I'm doing this a disservice, I'm sure; it wasn't intentional, though. I liked the color.

No, but I'm the one who's here now.

[She gives him a playful nudge, turning him toward the water.] Probably more stubborn than you, now. Do you find it childish?

[maestro_ezio]

Probably, yes. [He turns the stone in his hand while approaching the lake once more. He casts the stone and it skips four times before gliding into the water.] No. My brother and I tried to show our youngest brother but he did not enjoy it as we did. He preferred to climb and gather feathers.

[She stays back, watching him with a smile.] You sound fond of them.

[maestro_ezio]

[He does not turn to look at her.] I was. I am. [He shakes his head a little.] Federico always knew what to do.

He is your older brother, then, if you look up to him so.

[She finally walks back over to the water, only dipping her toes in this time.]

[maestro_ezio]

[Ezio does not answer. He smiles to himself very slightly, remembering his rather lazy brother and his endless teasing.]

He taught me much of what I know.

[He looks younger when he smiles, and she takes a moment to appreciate the lightness that's settled around them.]

Would you believe I am the eldest? I was a terrible sister, but I loved my brother very much.

[maestro_ezio]

[This time he does turn to look at her.] Which explains why you scold me the way you do.

You just seem troublesome. Someone probably needs to be scolding you.

[Smiling WAY TOO MUCH, stupid flowers.] ...I have no idea why I'm saying such ridiculous things.

[maestro_ezio]

[He leans in a little closer to her, narrowing his eyes.] You are worse than my mother. Much worse. [If anything, she was the one who urged him to keep fighting. She had been in shock once for a long time, but she was an Auditore, even if by marriage. Wasn't it she who told him to render men impotent?

As for the second part...] It would seem you think rather highly of me.

[She doesn't back off or even flinch.] I am worse than my mother.

...I can recognize when someone has skill, when they have good qualities that cannot be hidden even under an assassin's hood. There may be certain things I do not dislike about you.

I do not doubt that.

Only certain things? I could say the same of you. [You can't always hide behind all of your bravado, Guistina.]

There are some things I strongly dislike about you, as well. Don't overestimate my opinion of you.

[He crosses his arms.] Do you truly believe I would do such a thing? I would not expect for you to act otherwise towards me.

[Ezio kicks a stone towards the lake. He keeps thinking back to the fight that got him his scar and to his family, keeps smiling to himself. What would his brother the short-lived Assassin say to him now?]

[She giggles when he crosses his arms, then laughs--really laughs--when he kicks the rock.]
