[Midii had seemed delighted that he'd asked her to walk with him. It was... nice. He led the way away from the front gate and towards the gardens, thinking they would both enjoy whatever they'd find there. Even if they didn't talk much, they rarely did. But they said what they needed to and understood what went unsaid-at least she understood what he wanted to say more often than not.]

[Almost without thought, he reached out to lightly touch her shoulder before drawing back, surprised at himself but trying not to show it.]
