[the whole ~magic of space travel thing has failed completely to freak Lily out - there's a lot to be distracted by on the ship. After successfully getting Sirius to go give Harry some company and seeing Remus wandering off in the direction of the chocolate fountains, she's mostly just people/being-watching for now]

[Brittany had been touring the area while she waited for James, when she caught sight of a certain red-haired girl.]

[After what she had seen over the Guide, guilt had been welding up inside her. She never minded stealing other people's dates for a dance. Or, you know, if they were evil. Or if Coach Sylvester told her to. But Lily had been so sweet to her when she first arrived, and Britt felt she owed her an explanation.]

[she recognized the girl as one of the slightly-odder ones from the Guide, but hadn't caught her name. Since Lily spent seven years running around in black school robes changing teacups into rats, she didn't exactly feel qualified to judge what was "normal."]

Interesting party, isn't it? They really have all kinds here.

So...are you here with anyone?

Oh, er, sort of brought a friend along. He's running around in the wolf costume somewhere.

[she looks around, grinning again because she pretty much can't believe Sirius got him to wear a wolf costume]

It sort of dominoed from there, roped a few friends into coming too. Thought it might be nice, you know, keep everyone's mind off worrying.

Yeah, since we've all just arrived - you know, it's a bit depressing. But I do think they're enjoying themselves.
