This is so heartwarming to read on a cold Monday morning. If I'd just seen about it in the paper as a human-interest story I would have been wowed, but knowing you and your family (at least as much as one can via online connections) made it even more moving. Sometimes, it truly is the smallest human kindness than makes the biggest difference in someone's life.

I still shake my head in amazement every time I see that huge pile of envelopes.

And not just coins, but the personal letters people wrote! The pride people have in where they live, in what they know, the joy in sharing that with a stranger... Astounding, truly. <3 <3 <3

He laughed and said, "How are you going to top this next year?" Hahaha. By sending him off to build barns with the Amish. LOL.

Thank you - it really is great to be reminded that people can be so lovely, you know? <3

*sniff* I cried, too. :-)

That's so awesome! The sheer number of packages...I know you got a lot of responses, but that is seriously something.

It's great that your son's friends appreciated it as well, and now he's all super cool. And I'll admit, I felt a little special knowing my MIT envelope got that reaction.

I'm thrilled to know that this made him so happy. Thanks for sharing with us!

Oh, you TOTALLY need to feel cool. Half of this group is all into engineering and technology, so they all went, "Whooooooa!" HEE.

Thank YOU for sharing with US! <3

So awesome! I'm really glad things turned out so well, and we do tend to forget that for the most part people in general are pretty kind and giving.

I'm most especially happy to hear that the party and the other children interacting with the boy seemed so very cool!

It was good to see that when he's relaxed and not feeling anxious, he does really well socially. He knew they were doing stuff that they all liked, and they all were having a visibly good time, so that went a LONG way to cutting down his anxiety/physical manifestations of Aspergers.

SO AWESOME.
