The Great CD Project of '04 Rolls On...

Nov 05, 2004 19:20

It finally happened, but it's because it's crazydiamondsue's request. I had to make a 2CD compilation. She wanted Spander. I made this with her fic in mind. Keep in mind (those of you who are die-hard Spander shippers) that this is MY interpretation of what I see in that 'ship. It's filled with the funny, angst, the snark, the hot, but ultimately I think it's ( Read more... )

cd mixes, xander, spike, character cd mixes, btvs

guh. I'm listening to it right now, Cowboys and Angels, and the line: "take this man to your bed/ maybe his hands will help you forget/ please be stronger than your past/ the future will bring you a chance."

Ev-ree Things Coom-Ing Up Spander and SongFic! Uhg. Not songfic. I think this is better than songfic. Background to the words, not injecting themselves OVER the words.

I'm so glad everyone is getting it! I've been afraid that I'm being a little too outside.

I don't care that George Michael is gay. Actually that's a lie. If I'd realised way back then I probably would have obsessed a little more over him. Tight white shorts and highlights...
*sighs*

But...

Depeche Mode

I wanna be a teenager again!

throw in Morrissey, MCA of the Beastie Boys, and Brad Thompson (cute boy I crushed on in school) and you have my teenage years.

Oh. Don't forget getting my period all over my white pants. THEN you really have the Stoney teen experience.

*keeps mind firmly planted in the now*

'Valley Girl' squeal! You made me wanna watch it. And the Roots live, have you ever been. If you ever get the chance, GO! One of the best shows I've ever been to.

LittleCompletely unknown fact: in the next part of my new WIP, which is on it's third re-write, I make one of the characters (not telling) reference the song because of Fred/Illyria. Poor taste? Yeah, but s'alright.

I love Valley Girl. I watch it when it's laundry folding time. My second CD of the movie soundtrack is scratched all to hell, which makes me sad because that's the one with "Eaten By The Monster Of Love" on it, when Brad thinks he's getting Stacy's mom? Fuuuuuh.

Um, which song are you talking about it small type? Did I mention how much I love that new fic you are writing? I love it like a little boobie covered chew toy.

You're up for Monday! When you get a chance, email me (address in post) your mailing address so I can rush it out as soon as it's ready to go.

You were supposed to get the souper subliminal brain wave: I meant 'Freddie's Dead' d-do-d-do, that's what I said, d-do-d-do.

speaking of in poor taste -- now you have to follow my convoluted self-absorbed and tired logic to see how this has at all to do with your post, but. . . I had to cut a line from my latest Wes-fic because it just wasn't something I could imagine him joking about. but he was going to ask his father why, if they thought he was a vamp, they just didn't stake him and see if he dusted. and then say, "We call that the Faith-based approach."

OK, long way to go for a bad joke, that's another reason I cut it.

Also, you are the Queen of the Soundtrack universe. truly, mix CDs rock my world. I just drove down to my parents' house and was listening to mixes that smashsc and another friend made me. they do make the time fly! waiting for Wesley (bounces). but you know -- on your timetable. i'm just expressing the enthusiasm. also, Paige is getting her smock tomorrow! I haven't seen her since she turned 1, because we've both been sick, and the party isn't until next week.

Gah! You done good there, girl! There's Bjork, Sade, Depeche Mode, there's it all being wrapped up with Radiohead and you can't go wrong with that.

But that line: "I guess it was the way you were cold". If I had onions glued to my eyes, there would be tears. Cause, so true and so sad and it's so much fun playing with them anyway. Dance my puppets, dance!

I'm listening to the "I guess it was the way you were cold" song and it's HEART-breaking.

My puppets dance like marrionettes without strings.
/is sad.

Sweeps up your tiny shattered heart.

Your puppets sound like they're been written by my bad!fic author. Do you have to carry them around with you every where? And do they blush and whine and erupt horrifying amounts of body fluids about the place?

Mine don't have the grace to blush or whine. Copious amounts of fluids? Oceans full. I usually carry them at arm's length to keep them from my snapping, pissed off aligator pussy.

They just hump shit, make a mess, say some weird esoteric/ ee cummings meets Jane Austen boolshit. It's the damnest thing, really.

I keep coming to your LJ via crazydiamondsue's links, and finally had a "Duh!" moment and figured out I can friend you myself "Duh!" So, I'm doing that. If it's okay. If it's not, I guess maybe you could put some privacy block up in weird HTML code saying "Keep spikeNdru out of my life and my journal at all costs", but that would just be. . . excessive.
