An excellent way to start the week.

Hey, thanks to everyone that chimed in with righteous indignation about the 8 year old bully. The Mister took an extra slow walk home with Sally (our German Shepherd) after walking the girls to school this morning. Sally will protect her herd! Ha ha.

Bullet points, because I like 'to the point' info:
  • my sister is in BIG TROUBLE for not calling ( Read more... )

guitar hero, walk-a-thon, xbox is taking my soul, to do

Scarf is gorgeous. I love that Dian Fossey yarn! I'm working on about *counts* four different scarves right now and I have not touched one in forever. I need to do that this week.

Hope is the sweetest cat that ever was and Darthanne scares the piss out of me, especially in that picture. I'm afraid the next time I see her she may lunge for my throat. Small bunny, human, it's all the same.

Congrats on signing up for the 3 Day *and* starting to film this week. Whoo-hoo!! Not only will you be a STAH you will be a STAH with fantastic legs. *leers*

It's a good day, Stoney. A good day indeed. *beams at you*

I'm feeling much, much better. Dude, I had one of the best experiences OF MY LIFE yesterday. (I'll email you a link to the LJ post.) I'm all, "YAY! :DDDDD *peaceful inside*"

YES. Phone call tonight! I am SO SORRY I flaked Saturday. I took a nap and NEVER WOKE UP. Seriously, I think I finally woke up about 9pm. Uhm, hi sleep, I obviously needed you. But I think I needed the sleep because I feel so much better now.

That kid is amazing. Crazy amazing. I'd love to see him and Beth duke it out. Ahahaha.

OMG, stoney, I have SO MUCH FUN playing "Devil Went Down to Georgia" on Medium. I kind of love shouting "I told you once, you son of a bitch, I'm the best that's ever been" and then deploying star power.

I AM A HUGE DORK, OK?

Congratulations on your award (nom nom) noms! And the kitty pictures are adorable. :)

Edited to add that they're also offering a FREE download of "Dream On" for the GH3 on the Xbox, ending today!

I LOVE THAT, TOO!!!! Dude, I will cooperative play with you ANY DAY OF THE WEEK, zomg. Um, one of my most favorite things EVER is to play bass on Black Magic Woman on medium (one day I'll amp it up to Hard) because it is a BAD ASS BASS LINE. Ditto on YYZ, which is actually harder to play than guitar. It is CRAZY.

Player One? YOU ROCK. Hee!!

WHOA!! Thanks for the update, I'm dling it RIGHT NOW!!

Aw, purty kitties!

Finding someone decent to restore violins is a job of work! (One summer it got so humid that the neck of mine pulled away from the body a little and I had to go to two places before it seemed right again.) Hope they come back byoo-tiful.

Yay for yummy bread! I baked last night but one of the loaves came out a little sad and wrinkly--I dont' know if it was the damp or the Zgirls doing Dance Dance Revolution while it was rising, but it's not a happy little loaf.

RAWK ON, STONEY!

You play, too? AWESOME. Oh, I am so excited to have these babies fixed. They're the last two surviving instruments my g-grandfather made back in Denmark, and they're GORGEOUS. They just need some TLC (and new horse hairs for the bows.)

I will come play DDR with you, that is my SECOND most favorite game ever. (I rise my bread in the laundry room, away from kids/animals, and that stopped my sad flat loaves. <-- like, the first 10 were all wonky, no lie. Now? PERFECT. *kisses fingers*)

lml 0-0 lml (because I wear glasses, hahaha)

Awww -- cute kitties.

Yay for signing up for the 3-day again! I did it last year (inspired, in part, because of you doing it the year before.) I'm going to take a few years off though before I do it again (I'm 46 this year -- may not do it again until I'm 50, as kind of a celebration of the big birthday years, you know?)

And yay for knitting! This (points to icon) is a scarf that I knit a couple years ago and it's so soft.

I am absolutely in love with that scarf - that is GORGEOUS! (Didn't you post about it once, or am I imagining that?) I love that color scheme - so lovely.

What a terrific way to ring in your 50th! I'm glad in a way that I didn't do it two years in a row, because now it's this nostalgic thing I'm re-capturing, instead of doing it because it's there. (Doesn't make sense, but in my head it works. *g*)

*slips in under your scarf for warmth and hugs*

YYZ--Geddy Lee. Oh, how I love thee. (And Neil Peart, and Alex Lifeson--trio of happy!)

Neat little side story: for years, Rush had never been to Brazil. Brazil apparently loveslovesLOVES Rush--so, finally, for their Vapor Trails tour, they go out there.

You clearly know YYZ.

The fans? When Rush busted out this song?

The fans SANG ALONG.

Mr. Lee is considered one of the most virtuosic bassists in the music world. That is why the bass line is so bleeding hard. The only other thing that'd be harder would be the drum track. I will reserve more Rush geebling for a later time. :D

Also: Kitties! (Vicarious snuggling, even Darthanne, who'd be playing paw-puppets with my eyeballs.)

Neil Peart = greatest drummer ever. That song is one of my most favorite drum lines EVER. (Um, I have a thing for drummers. Which is why I married one. *G*) Second most favorite drummer: Omar Hakim. The dude is a mother f&cker. No, wait, he's tied with Stuart Copeland. I can geek out for HOURS about music, so be careful!!!

Here's a random music talking point along the same lines. Samuel Barbar was the first American composer allowed to play in Russian, and when he played Adagio For Strings, the Moscovites stood in the aisles, weeping. They demanded the piece be played three more times. In a row. (That's one of my favorite stories, ever. And songs, too!)

What's great about Darthanne is that she's actually very cuddly when she wants to be. SHe just can gut a rabbit in under five seconds. Yeesh. :D
