hi
Are you talking dean/cas relationship on the show....if you are I think that being in purgatory cleared up a lot of things for Dean...they fought together and I think that it bonded them back together again...is that what you mean?

So sorry, I know the question was kind of ramble-y, but yes, that is what I meant. Thanks so much!

Would you mind elaborating the question? I don't understand what you mean by "Castiel coming home" and "post-psychopath". When you said "the relationship shattered", at which point you mean exactly? Your 'shattered' point and mine may not be the same.

Yes of course! Sorry about that, I had it in my head and didn't think it out all the way through. So here, I've re-worded it:

What moment post 7.01 do you perceive as the turning point for the Dean/Castiel relationship? That is, when do you see the beginning of Castiel’s journey home?

By home, I mean his return to Dean and Sam and not necessarily only physically. He was very removed from them through almost all of season six, so when I say "coming home," I meant being with them again like he was in season five - not only his physical presence but also mentally.

I personally believe the relationship shattered during "The Man Who Would be King." That's when Dean lost his trust in Castiel, which still breaks my heart every time I think about it.

Glad I asked! We certainly see different things. I don't remember much about the confusion that was season six, because that was it is, confusing. Now I don't like to think Dean had lost his trust in Cas. I think Dean still believed in Cas, that is, until Cas swallowed the whole Purgatory down.

So, to me, 7.01 was kinda breaking point for Dean and Cas. Consequently, Cas' journey home started when he came back as Emmanuel. But I don't think Dean really welcomed him back until they were in purgatory, which changed everything, for good reasons.

Not sure if this helps, or makes it even more confusing?

Part of the reason I love SPN so much is because so many of us can find different things in both the text and sub-text and part of the fun is sharing those moments.

Thank you very much! It did help indeed!
