Oliver had done his pregame ritual which involved him and the loo along with a copy of 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. He'd been using the same ritual since he was at Hogwarts and read his dogeared copy to calm himself before he played. Spending thirty minutes on the loo had a soothing effect and frankly, it was the only place he could find some peace and quiet. But Oliver didn't really read while her was there. He actually went over scouting reports and the game strategies in his mind, his concentration mostly on the other team's attack and the corresponding defense that the British team should use ( ... )

Marcus circled the Chaser for the Toga, Tongo, or Togo team. Really, he couldn't be arsed to figure out just who the fuck they were playing or where they were from. He didn't give a gods damn about anything other than winning and he'd do whatever it took to guarantee that the British team would do just that ( ... )

It didn't take a verbal shout from Flint to recognize the intent even before the Quaffle was flying her way - in tune enough with his style to be able to read the pass. However it was enough to deke out the chaser following him, who was trying to cut off his lane to the goals rather than aiming towards her. She was aware of one of the other chasers hot on her tail as she flew quickly towards the hoops, and rather than trying to catch and release it either at the hoops or at Alicia for the extra pass, she simply redirected the force of Marcus' throw with the palm of her hand, whooping in jubilation as it went in ( ... )

Cedric kept wincing. He winced when the Togo players got a goal, he winced when somebody got hit with a bludger or a broom, he even winced when balls came close but didn't connect. The Amazing Wincing Man, he chided himself ( ... )

Oliver grumbled after the damn lucky arse Togo chaser scored off a rebound. He knew he should have snatched the ball and held it for a while. Plus, he let the Quaffle back out into the middle of the field. He couldn't believe he'd committed such a rookie error and he wouldn't let that happen again ( ... )

Fleur winced and made a face when the man from the other team scored against Oliver before she leaned over to the stranger sitting in the seat next to her and asked, "Ze man who scored against Great Britain, he is a Chooser? Zat is what you call his position? How many points?" The blond-headed gentleman beside her suddenly turned and sloshed his beer a bit before setting it upright ( ... )

Marcus watched Alicia score and pumped his fist, realizing as he looked upward toward the seekers who fumbled around like blind men that this game wouldn't be completed for a while. He didn't care though. Marcus was running on adrenalin and he thought he could play for hours on end ( ... )
