Lavender let herself into Ron's flat, glad that nothing looked out of place. She closed the door behind her, pushing her hair out of her face and trying to stifle a yawn. As she took off her shoes and put her bag down, a cat padded its way out of the kitchen and stopped to watch her.

"Hello, Molly," Lavender said with a smile, bending down and holding out her hand. "How are you?" The cat slunk over, purring as Lavender rubbed her behind the ears. "Not been throwing any wild parties while Ron's away, have you?" Molly purred happily at the attention Lavender was giving her. When she started to paw at Lavender's stockings, however, Lavender scooped her up for a cuddle, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.

"I've just finished a night-shift," she informed Molly. "So how about I get us all some breakfast?" Even with Ron away, she was certain that there would be food in his flat. "Where's Ginny?" Peeking into the living room, she saw Ron's other cat sitting on the windowsill. "Hello, Ginny!" she called, giving a wave with her free hand. Lavender wasn't quite used to night-shifts, especially as she didn't do them regularly and the tiredness after work always seemed to make her a little silly.

It was kind of nice to be in Ron's flat, though, even if she was mostly there just to make sure that the cats got fed and didn't trash the place. It seemed to Lavender that Ron still thought Molly especially was a bit of a hell-cat, but since the cats had shredded her cardigan that one time, Molly had been nothing but sweet when Lavender was around. What would have made this better, though, was Ron. He was away with the Quidditch team and while she was ecstatic for him and the team over their win over Norway, she was also pleased that it meant they were one match closer to the tournament being over.

Since the Greece match a couple of weeks ago, Lavender had barely seen Ron. With schedules like the ones they were currently keeping, there was simply no way around it and Lavender missed Ron terribly. She couldn't remember how many times she had started writing a letter to him telling him that she missed him, but had given up each time, thinking that it just sounded so horribly clingy.

Putting Molly down, Lavender went into the kitchen, charming more water into the bowl for the cats and refilling their food while she boiled the kettle and checked that the milk left in Ron's fridge wasn't sour. With a cup of tea and some buttered toast, Lavender set herself down on the sofa, resting her head back. She quickly moved the tea when Molly decided to join her, trying not to spill it as the cat curled up beside her. "I'm just sitting down for ten minutes," Lavender murmured, already feeling comfortable enough to stay there all day, even though she knew she had to sleep at some point and had paperwork to do. Molly raised her head and Lavender smiled. "Just don't let me fall asleep yet."
