She'd been walking the floor ever since Eleanor's
letter arrived. She was going stir crazy waiting to hear what was going on. Finally, she went into the library, grabbed a piece of parchement, and scrawled a letter, trying to temper her anger and annoyance but not completely succeeding.
Ernie:
I don't really expect you to respond to this and I don't even know if you'll read it. I could tell Brecca to peck you until you respond, but I won't. This time.
What the hell do you think you're doing? Leaving Eleanor is not going to solve your problems. She's been your anchor through all of this and she doesn't deserve to be repaid by you breaking her heart. As your adopted/pseudo sister, I'm ashamed of you. You don't want to hear it I'm sure, but this is exactly the way your mother would want you to behave. I'm sure you haven't gone to her and I don't want to give her the satisfaction of knowing what a wanker you're being to your fiancee, or I'd go there to check. Ernie, you need to be your own man, not the mindless Pureblood moron they'd want you to be.
Eleanor loves you and wants to marry you. Please come home,or at least send her an owl saying you're okay and that you'll be back sometimes soon. Running away isn't Hufflepuff style. It's cowardly and disloyal. I still care about you, and Elle still loves you and you should know that we and your other friends will be looking for you.
Hannah
PS: If no one's heard from you in a week, Brecca won't be so well behaved next time 'round.
Finished, she addressed the note and summoned Brecca. "Okay, girl, I want you to take this to Uncle Ernie." Brecca bobbed her head and Hannah attached the note. "Be nice to him, okay? He's being a jerk, but he needs a friend. If he wants you to stay, be friendly for a while. Don't nip him, though; he hates that."
As the owl took off, she wondered if Cedric could track her in his Animagus form. That possibility would stay in the back of her mind for now. It was time to go see Elle and start combing the town, even if it was unlikely that he'd stuck around. She Aparated away to Eleanor's house.
