Date: 14 June 2005 Characters: Wilhelmina Grubbly-Plank, Mafalda Hopkirk Location: The Library Status: Private Summary: Willa visits the library, then sends an owl to the Minister Completion: Incomplete
Mafalda was in her office to receive the owl, and read it over quickly, trying to decide whether she knew this woman. She'd known most of the people affiliated with the Ministry, at least in passing, and she'd met a great many more over the years, but she didn't have any particular mental picture for this woman.
Not that it mattered.
She penned a quick reply, expressing her agreement with the concept and an invitation to stop in; she was typically actually in her office mornings from mid-morning until lunchtime Monday through Saturday, and expected to be in all day Tuesday. Monday and Wednesday afternoons were already quite booked, and Thursday was a mess.
Her informality was probably something she was going to have to wean herself away from, but the notion of a strictly scheduled day weeks in advance made her cranky even in theory, and with as little bureaucracy as was currently built, it also wasn't strictly necessary, so she was sticking with this.
