Rita had meant to let Septima and Daphne know that Gilderoy had contacted her on the day. Really, she had. But, well, Daphne was seeing Holly everyday anyway, and Miss Vector was Julian's cousin, not Gilderoy's, so it was hardly imperative that she be told immediately.
Besides, Rita had received quite an exciting invitation yesterday, and had been busy pondering what to wear.
But it was probably about time she sat down and sent some owls. Yes, it was only fair.
Septima,
I've had word from Gilderoy. He claims to be doing well, is attended by house-elves, and seems to be eating. He has told me his location and given me apparition coordinates, but not without having me promise not to reveal them to anyone else. I will be visiting him today, and I'll pass on your well-wishes, but I really feel I ought to respect his wishes for privacy, otherwise.
Any news from Julian, yet?
Regards,
Rita Skeeter
Miss Greengrass,
I've had word from Gilderoy. He says he is doing well, and has house-elves to attend him. He sounds well enough, if down, and has told me his location and given me apparition coordinates. He made me promise not to share them, though, and although I am going to see him today to make sure he really is being taken care of (and taking care of himself), I feel I should respect his wishes. I'll pass on your well-wishes, though.
Regards,
Rita Skeeter
Rosie,
I heard from Gilderoy. He's alright, or so he says, and attended by house-elves. He told me his location and gave me the apparition coordinates. I'm going to visit and make sure he really is being looked after, but he's asked me not to share the location information, which is fair enough. He's not in the best spirits.

And now for the invitation. Rita smiled. Oh, this was a cultural event, and a classy one at that. Irma had once expressed the opinion that liasing with foreign media magnates must be exciting. Now, she would find out for herself.
Dear Irma,
I have just received the most exciting invitation. Marcel Bagot, owner of L'avis in Paris, is having a function on Saturday night to launch the new Charme de Dimanche magazine, to appear in the paper the following day. As his newest business associate, he has invited me and 'a friend' along. The invite includes our own portkey and a room in Paris for the night. The function is to be held at the Lourve.
Would you care to join me?
Rita
