With Katie working tonight, Cedric had had a bite to eat at the museum, then had headed over to the town hall. If he'd worn a suit and tie to work as usual, he'd brought robes with him that morning because he planned to announce the museum opening tomorrow and as the director for the Wizarding Museum of Art and Culture, he thought at least simple robes in order. He didn't really mind robes, even if he wore Muggle clothing most of the time.

Now, he'd taken a place near the front of the hall, and clapped for the engineers and architects along with others in attendance. He might be able to get by for most things with household spells, but he was quite happy to have his computer back, at the very least ( ... )

Angelina noticed she was one of the first people at the meeting, but seeing Cedric, she was encouraged. She walked up towards the front and sat in the seat next to him.

"Hey, there," she whispered, nudging him with her elbow.

She listened as the Minister made the announcements about the reconstruction and about the new bank. Both were certainly good signs and she was feeling encouraged. Understanding a little more about how the power was working put her at ease, even though she hadn't really known it was a source of stress for her.

She leaned back and wondered what other new business might possibly be brought up at the meeting. It was certainly interesting to watch the microcosm of society that was small-town governance.

"Hey," he whispered back, grinning at Angelina and adding softly, "The broom you made me is brilliant," before returning his attention to the Minister.

After working at the museum for the afternoon, Hannah had gone home to have something to eat, then remembered that it was the night of the meeting and headed down to the town hall on her bicycle.

Even though she was fairly early, she wasn't feeling extraordinarily talkative, so she decided to take a seat toward the back and listen to everyone else.

The meeting, starting off with the issues of power and of the new bank, encouraged Hannah and she was feeling quietly positive.

After work, Ron met Lavender at the Town Hall. They planned to listen to the announcements and the discussion then go back to his flat, have a quick dinner and just hang out the rest of the night ( ... )

Ginny made it to the Town Hall only a minute before the Minister came out to speak, pulling her hair back in a quick, loose ponytail and shrinking her notes down to fit in her Healer robe pockets. Out of breath, she opened the door to the meeting room and found a seat near Ron and Lavender with a sigh of relief as the council called the meeting to order.

She wasn't exactly sure why she was there except that her Attending, Healer Asklepion, had made it abundantly clear that she needed to expand her horizons beyond her work. When the Minister began talking about the Muggle Lek-tric-ty, she perked up thinking about the Dee-Vee-Dee and the picture box that Lee had given her. Mentions of Diagon Alley made the smile fade from her lips and she sat through the remainder of the Ministers speech without fidgetting.

The things happening in the town seemed to be good - everyone had noticed by now that the electricity was back on and the news that there would be a proper bank in Stoatshead Hill had to be a good thing. Lavender couldn't help but think of her chat with Luna and the ideas that were being thrown around for another hospital building. She could only hope that people might be a little more inclined to invest in the hospital or make donations if there was a proper institution to deal with the money.

As Ron's arm slipped around her shoulder, Lavender looked at him, giving him a smile and then turned back to trying to listen to the Minister. She spotted Ginny coming in and gave her a small wave and a smile.

Movement nearby caught her eye and Ginny turned, a smile curling on her lips as she saw her brother putting his arm around Lavender. They were so adorable in their attention to one another and it was obvious that they were good for each other. Ginny was glad that Lavender was so level-headed and caring, knowing she'd take good care of her somewhat tempermental brother.

Her smile broadened when Lavender gave her a small wave and she returned it with her own, adding a wink in acknowledgement of their cuteness.

Neville shifted in his seat, feeling vaguely uncomfortable. He'd dressed well in his white robes that branded him an Herbologist, hoping that it would make him feel a bit steadier on his feet when he made his offers, but nothing could really overcome the fact that he was about to speak up, even briefly, in front of a room full of people, most of them people he really didn't know.

He tugged on his cuff and looked around, wondering if anyone from the Hospital or the new School would bring up some business. He really didn't want to make a general statement to the Council, if he could help it.

Remus had only a few moments following his meeting with Horace in which to make it to the meeting. He slid into an aisle seat half-way back. It was nice to see the place filling in nicely.

The news about the Goblins was certainly a plus. It was a true sign that things were, at very long last, coming back on track. Remus couldn't help but breathe a silent sigh of relief. One more thing was at long last sliding right into place.

With the hall falling silent, Remus glanced around for Minerva. He remembered from an earlier conversation that she was going to try and make it to the meeting. So he'd sit back for the time being, but would certainly speak up on her behalf shortly if she didn't arrive.

Minerva arrived at the meeting even as the Minister was coming forward to speak. She stopped in the back to wait politely for the minister to finish speaking while she looked for Remus. He was, conveniently, sitting right on the aisle, halfway down, and when the Minister was finished, she too the breather to move down the aisle and park her chair next to him. "Good evening," she whispered with a smile. "Do you think we should speak now about the state of the school, or let others go first?"

Remus turned, more feeling someone beside him than seeing her. Remus smiled at Minerva's presence, somewhat glad he wouldn't have to go through all of this on his own. "Evening," He whispered in response. "I got here only a little bit ago and we just got started. I'd say..." Remus glanced around, not seeing anyone standing yet to begin speaking. "Why don't we start. Get it over with, as it were?"

Minerva nodded, and with a smile shot in his direction, unbraked her chair and rolled it forward toward the speaking platform.
