The day had finally arrived. Of course, for most people it would seem very much like just any other day, but Gilderoy was up before dawn getting things ready. After all, this would be his one and only wedding day, and he would find his rightful place as the center of attention of the entire town - perhaps the entire wizarding world.
Knobby was also up early getting things ready on her end. She had food to prepare for an estimated crowd of 40 or 50 people (Although her Most wise and generous Master Gilderoy had instructed her to prepare for around 250). Not only that, but she also was chosen so graciously to help with the decorations of both the church and the reception area.
If he wasn’t so much of an emotional wreck already from the event of the day, the lack of sleep would have sent him completely over the edge. “I really do feel like a nervous bride,” he said to himself, looking over at his wedding robes.
He had decided to let Knobby take care of all the catering and decorations so he could concentrate on making himself as shiny and golden as possible. The robes were ornate enough as they were and would only need the most modest of twinkle charms to highlight the shiny bits, but as for himself, it was another matter entirely.
Upon awakening, Gilderoy carefully removed the curlers from his hair and tousled it to make sure they were all springy enough. Then, after running a pick through it to make sure it was puffy enough, he began casting the customary charms. Golden glamour charms for his hair, the peachiest smoothing charms for his complexion, whitening and sparkle charms for his teeth, including his trademark Gilderoy Glint.
It took him nearly three-quarters of an hour just to make himself presentable enough to face the robes. Oh, nothing was too good for his darling Marcel, and he wanted to make sure the man was completely awestruck with his stunning beauty when they met again at the church.
