Severus Snape had many defining characteristics, but patience was generally not listed among them. For a week, however, he had been more than patient with his lover, waiting for Remus to make the first move, to speak about the Issue that was perturbing him so much. Every time Severus broached the subject, Remus would clam up and try to distract him with sex or conversation, which, embarrassingly, often worked. But Severus had taken it upon himself to go to the root of the problem Thursday, and after his discussion with Bill Weasley, he knew he had to sit Remus down and make him talk.
Severus had been a near constant presence in Remus' home, there whenever Gilen wasn't, going to his own home with Susan to do all of the necessary work but not lingering after dinner. He felt... well, Severus would never feel guilt, of course, but he knew he and Susan would have to speak about his absences sooner rather than later. First, however, it was time for the discussion with Remus that had to come.
He waited until they were both in Remus' bedroom for the evening, and shot Remus a look the other man would know all too well by now. He cleared his throat, and said without preamble, "We are talking about this. Now."
