In a strange sort of way, it was a good thing he had been hurt and exhausted and sore from the night before. When he hobbled down to breakfast with a bit of a limp, Rose didn't say a word about it other than to ask if he needed an extra spoonful of maple syrup in his porridge to help take away the aches from his hero work ( ... )

There was so much damage to the buildings in this town, that Gilderoy had a hard time finding one that seemed both suitable for their storefront, didn't have too much damage, and had plenty of space out back to keep the bunnies and goats ( ... )

Kingsley was just making the right onto Alpha, headed southeast for the farm, when he thought he saw a tree move.

No, that couldn't be right.

It was a person. A person decked out in green and sneaking around the back of an abandoned building that, to his knowledge, had not been claimed. And he'd been walking this way every day since he'd been here, so he would know.

Maybe it was one of the trouble makers that had gotten him in trouble last night and would probably be getting him into much more trouble once he'd arrived on the farm.

Sneaking around the corner, wall to the back like any good ex-Auror, wand at the ready, he called out in his most authoritative voice, "This is private property." Yeah, it wasn't. But so what? "Come out with your hands visible."

Gilderoy was overjoyed with the house. It was his house now, to be sure... of course it was his! When he heard someone else come by and talk to him he came out with his hands raised over his head in joyous rapture. "Oh, angry brown man! Come and look at my house!!!"

He pulled out his wand and cast a shining sparkle charm on his new house and storefront, cleaning it up and casting twinkling little stars all over the roof and the tops of all the surfaces.

"I think it should be re-painted. I like the green... perhaps with some lace window treatments. What do you think?"

Romilda was busy wiping down the tables and cleaning glasses during a quiet spell at the Five Alarm. Rosie had stepped out for a bit to see if she could get her hands on some more meat for the kitchen, so she was looking after things for a bit. Liam was playing quietly in the kitchen.

She looked up as she head a voice calling excitedly for Rosie.

"Gilderoy?" Romilda asked as she looked up. "Gilderoy is that you? It's Romilda."

She had only met Gilderoy the day before, but his exuberance made her smile - he made Liam smile too, and that was something that they both needed right now.

"Rosie's not here at the moment Gilderoy, can I help you with anything?"

Pretty girl, this one was. What was her name? "Oh, hi Romilda. She's not here right now? Hmmm," pretty girl.

Romilda was called over to another gentleman at the bar who began flirting with her, telling her she had pretty eyes (which she did) and that color looked good on her (which it didn't really, but it wasn't terrible), and that she could sell him another butterbeer just with her smile.

"Yes! Yes you can help me, Romilda! And you might just be helping youself, as well."

Gilderoy went over to the other end of the bar and took her away from the other gentleman. "Sorry, I need to discuss something important with her."

He brought her all the way over to the end near the kitchen. "Have you ever done any modeling?" he asked in a half-whisper.

Romilda blinked twice as Gilderoy pulled her away from the customer she was serving. Rosie had told her that he was a lovely, harmless man, if a little confused due to a bad memory charm. She was a little tense as he sidled up to her -- that's how her other 'clients' used to negotiate a price with her. He hoped Gilderoy wasn't thinking of...

"Pardon, did you say modeling?" she clarified, half in disbelief, and half with a smirk.

She did like to think she was fairly good looking, but to have someone ask this made her unconsciously flip her hair over her ear and her smile broaden.

"Well, I can't say I have, but there's never really been an opportunity..." Well, there had, but she's hexed that Muggle photographer's camera when she realised the sort of photos he'd truly wanted. "...What with the war and all."

Viktor did a series of stretches before he set out, touching his toes and pulling his hands up behind his back. The town wasn't all that large, but he could make a decent loop if he took some of the lesser-used streets and lanes, and he was getting to have a decent working knowledge of who was where by varying his route ( ... )

"Well hello there, young foreign man! What do you think of..." Gilderoy began. The man ran directly past him without another word.

Perhaps he was a fireman on the way to a fire. Gilderoy tilted his head back and sniffed at the air. He didn't smell any smoke, so it must have been either a very small fire, or a fire that produced very little smoke. Since he was running so quickly, Gilderoy deduced that it was a smokeless fire, but a very large one, indeed.

As them an sped past and continued taking running at an amazing speed, Gilderoy silently wished him the best and said a silent prayer that the kitten that was undoubtedly trapped in the flames would be rescued soon.

As he passed Beta and approached the river, Viktor breathed a sigh of relief and slowed slightly. Lockhart wasn't following. He crossed, and started to turn back onto Lovegood to go home, then changed his mind and continued on down to Hermione's house at a slower jog, making his way back east and up from there as he slowed, cooling his muscles and controlling his breathing. He let himself into the house and paced the living room for a few minutes, then started a long series of stretches once again. He wasn't still a professional athlete, but that was no reason not to stay in shape.
