Gawain had arrived as early as he was able, forcing concerns regarding the office aside. This was a necessary engagement. And, really, it couldn't take entirely too much time. The Proudfoots would hardly be the sort to linger in the village. They might only wish to visit William and then exit quickly, might be quite brief about this ( ... )

John returned the man's nod. Elizabeth spoke. "Thank you for seeing to us personally. Yes, we are ready to see our son."

They had not been told how they would reach this magical village. Elizabeth glanced around them furtively while John continued to watch the wizard. "If we may be so bold, what is the name of this... town? Will there be lodgings, or should we make arrangements here?" They had packed enough things for a week's stay, but were prepared for a longer visit if necessary. Everything would depend on William.
