Although she was proud that Hermione trusted her enough to help train her new employee, Eleanor was very nervous. It was a very big responsibility, and Eleanor was just a wee bit scared she'd bugger it up completely.

Darla was a very friendly and bubbly woman. Not much like Eleanor at all, but she thought that the customers would probably like her outgoing nature. She showed the other woman how to run the cash register, explained the different methods of payments, and had her look over the ledger so that Darla could see how Hermione kept track of sales. Then she showed her around the different sections of the shop.

"And the most important thing to remember," Eleanor said very seriously. "Is that Hermione's got all the books jinxed so that no one can steal them. If you forget to remove it, the customer will be petrified the minute they step out of the door. Which is very bad for business."

Darla waved her hand in the air and smiled. "That's easy enough to remember. I reckon it would be rather funny to boot, but I'm not looking to get canned."

Eleanor gave Darla a horrified look. "It's not funny, trust me. It's terribly embarrassing!"

Darla clapped her hands together and giggled in a way that Eleanor could only describe as gleeful. "You've done it before! Oh, that is absolutely brilliant!" she exclaimed. "There are no customers yet. I want to hear all about it."

Eleanor certainly wished a customer would come in, but the blasted door chime remained silent. "It's not a very interesting story. He is very cute. I got a bit distracted," she explained.

"Is very cute, eh? I'm guessing you didn't chase him off permanently then. Yes, those cute blokes will do that to a girl, won't they?"

"They most definitely will," Eleanor muttered.

Just then, the door chime really did sound. Eleanor breathed a sigh of relief and Darla rocked back on her heels with a grin. "A customer, I hope," the other woman said excitedly. Eleanor hoped so too.
