Xanadu was decorated quite nicely when Hermione arrived to get ready for the party. After a brief discussion with Mr. Boardman, which mostly consisted of listening to possible titles of his autobiography that he planned to write, she went upstairs to check over the area. The book was the price she was paying to rent out the entire second floor of the club, along with free drinks for all the guests, but it was beneficial to both Boardman and the press, so she thought it was more than fair. Besides, if he failed to write said book, she'd end up having the party for free and, if he did finish it, she could easily arrange a sale across the Channel, where the Hobgoblins were still very much 'all the rage'. Dobby had delivered the food already, a variety of things that could be eaten without a need to sit down formally, and the fish & chips smelled delicious.

She scanned the area to check for any blindspots, charming them with more powerful spells and then cast protective charms on the entire area. It was best to be safe when there would be a crowd in such a public setting, after all. Once that was finished, she checked with Nick, the barman, and evaluated the drink selections and the menu, which consisted of general pub food that Ron should enjoy.

After she was content that nothing had been missed, she noted several good corners where she could hide throughout the evening. A small area had been cleared of tables to make an upstairs dance area, so the guests wouldn't have to go downstairs if they wanted to move to the music. While none of the music listed was very familiar, though she did at least recognize the Weird Sisters, she was assured that it was very popular. If it was horrid, she could always request them to change it, fortunately. Satisfied that everything was ready for Ron's party, she ordered a glass of tropical punch sans alcohol and leaned against the bar. She smoothed down her dress while she waited for Harry, Ron, and any others to arrive.
