It was really rather foolish to run out of whisky when one was planning to make double chocolate fudge recipe that required whisky. Eloise normally kept an extra bottle on hand because it could add flavor to some of her more rich desserts, but she'd found the bottle nearly empty this afternoon when she'd settled her mind on a treat she'd learned years ago.

Of course, that meant she'd had to go to the pub to fetch a bottle so she could finish the fudge while Marian was upstairs doing her homework. She'd probably just be a lazy cow and buy food for dinner while she was out, since she really wanted to try to finish this fudge and make the variations with nuts or cherries to see what tasted best. When she had an idea in mind, she'd learned it was best not to attempt cooking anything else, even tinned soup, until she'd let the creativity out in the chocolate.

So, she entered the Five Alarm and headed to the bar. After settling on a stool, she ordered a pint to drink while she surveyed the menu.

He didn't bother looking around until he'd tossed back his first glass. As he was pouring the second, he finally figured he might as well take a look about; might be something worthwhile seeing. A quick glance on his way in had been enough to tell Willis that he was in no immediate danger, and now that he'd started in on the whiskey, he could easily give another look.

Prospects weren't as bad as they could have been. Not the best, maybe, but tolerable. And that girl sitting nearby--pretty damned close, he was glad to see, or close enough--wasn't bad to look at, not bad at all. Bit of a different look than he'd found lately, and Willis could always go for some variety.

Seemed as if he could be in a good mood, after all. Willis had settled his gaze on the girl for some time before he finally spoke. "You're a likely looking one."

When she felt someone watching her, Eloise shifted on her stool and continued reading the menu. After she decided to order bangers and mash to go, she requested two meals and a bottle of Firewhisky, which would go perfectly with pecans and chocolate, she hoped.

She soon forgot about someone looking at her as she sipped her pint and tried to estimate a good time to place an advert for an employee. She was hoping to open soon, so she really needed to stop wasting time and get her arse in gear if she wanted the shop to do well. Planning wasn't really her best quality, though, unless it was food. Her father was somewhat worried that she'd not be able to handle the business part of the shop, but she wasn't as helpless at that sort of thing as he seemed to think.

It was only when someone spoke that she came back to herself. She looked over at an older man and smiled politely. "Hello," she greeted, not entirely certain she liked the looks of this bloke. She was being silly, of course, so she smiled and asked curiously, "Likely for what?"

This was a different one. Smirking at the response, Willis took another drink. Either she was playing dumb, or this one was pretty damned naive. Willis wasn't opposed to either possibility. The first sort often had experience, and the second... Well, if they didn't, they were still fun to mess about with.

"All sorts of things. You just playing cute, or d'you come that way natural?"

She had nice skin, too. Seemed like a lot of the women around here did, and it was a sight he couldn't seem to tire of. Nice to feel that sort of skin, do with it what you would. The very thought was enough to make him grin.
