You've probably noticed I haven't been around for the past few nights. I had a bad fall early Sunday and earned a concussion. This will probably keep me out until next week, although if I can convince my handlers to let me, I'll try to drop by sometime next week, but it will probably be during the day. If you need anything from me or have any questions, send me an owl, or you can drop by my cottage. It's behind Hermione's bookstore, down a path in a little copse of trees. (There are two cottages, but mine is the one in the trees.)
Sorry to disappear so suddenly. But the painting date is still on schedule, and I'll still be starting officially as museum director on the 1st.

Dear Rabastan,
Sometime early Sunday morning, I managed to give myself a concussion and I've spent the last two days at Healer Towler's clinic. Now I'm confined to bedrest for the rest of the week, and not permitted to return to work until next week. This will not interfere with the public painting day, nor with my plans to start at the museum officially on the 1st. But it does have an obvious impact on our lunch meeting. We could either reschedule, or I could send a proxy, or I could simply let you handle it. Please let me know what you think would work best, and my apologies for the inconvenience. My clumsiness is a bit embarrassing.

I think I broke my head.
Well, not really, but I did manage to fall on Sunday and give myself a concussion. Our plans for dinner on Friday can still be here at my place, but I wanted to forewarn you that I won't be at my best. The good news is that you'll get to meet my friend and brother, Jeff Whitecalf. He's here from Canada.
By the way, don't tell Ernie. He'll fuss and worry.

Could I prevail upon you for a favor? I managed to fall on Sunday and give myself a concussion. I'm fine, but I've discovered when they tell you that reading with a concussion gives you a headache, they're not kidding. Watching the telly is a bit easier, but I've run out of movies I haven't seen at least twice, and aside from a few comedies, I'm tired of television shows.
I don't know how many movies you may have at your place, but could you pick out a few you think I might like, or even just ones that you liked, and loan them to me? I am BORED out of my skull and my jailers won't let me do much more than get off the couch to visit the loo. I know you're busy getting the cinema ready, so you can just send them by owl.
