Ron,

That's wonderful to hear! I'm so pleased to hear that things are going well for the two of you. If you ever want to talk, listening is the least I can do.

It was nice seeing you yesterday, even if only for a little while. Hope I can see you again soon.

Lavender,

It was good seeing you too. If you're not busy this weekend, maybe we can get together.

Ron,

I'd like that. Did you have anything in particular in mind? I'm not really fussy. I just want to see you.

Lavender,

No, I didn't have anything in particular in mind other than the usual. We could just hang out if you want.

Ron,

Hermione came by on Monday and told me you two'd talked and that things are better. That's brilliant, mate! I told you she'd listen, yeah? Glad to hear you took the step, and that it paid off for you. And no problem; anytime you need a chat, I'm always around somewhere.

I'm sure I'll see you soon; we'll grab a pint sometime.

Roger,

You were right. I should have done it sooner. I told you I'm stubborn.

A pint sounds good. Or more of that beer you had that night. See you soon.

Viktor read the letter and grinned. Good, Ron had gone to Hermione, which would certainly make her happier. She was independent, but he didn't think so much so that losing such a long-term friend as Ron would have been anything other than a hard blow.

Ron's owl had gone on, and he still hadn't acquired one of his own, so he didn't answer immediately, but he was glad.
