Since his return, Cedric had spent more time working at fixing up his new house than on the museum. He tried to be guilty about that, but was too excited by the prospect of a house -- a real house with a real fireplace that got warmer than 12 or 13 degrees and had electricity all through it. (That it was in back of Hermione's house helped.)
He'd spent half of Friday and all of Saturday until meeting Katie working on the house, cleaning it thoroughly, transfiguring the interior to better suit him. Now the colors were maroons and navy and forest greens instead of pale blues and pinks. (Despite being a badger, Cedric wasn't terribly fond of yellow, at least not in decor.) The nice setee had become an overstuffed couch and the wing chairs a recliner and low-back stuffed armchair to match the couch. Doilies and afghans were now pillows and throws and the medium coak had been changed to dark teak. Most of the walls were taken up by (currently empty) bookshelves. Upstairs, the flowery comforter had been changed to something geometric and the bed had been enlarged so that his feet weren't in danger of hanging off the end.
It looked more rustic and, Cedric thought, more suited to a forest house. More suited to a bloke, as well. Cedric really, really was not fond of pink.
But on Sunday, it was time to start moving in. He began with necessaries like clothing and food so that if he didn't finish it all in one day, he'd still be able to sleep there that night. He feared all the coming and going (even if a lot of it involved apparating) might disturb the Trio.
