Date: December 24th, 2004
Character(s): Lavender Brown, Ron Weasley, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Blaise Zabini, Tracey and Violet Davis
Location: From Copper Towers to various locations
Status: Public
Summary: Lavender sends some Christmas cards (and a couple of presents).
Completion: Incomplete(?)

Realising that if she didn't do it now there really wouldn't be much point at all, Lavender settled herself on the sofa with a box of blank Christmas cards. She didn't really have too may to do, having already written a few out for people at work, but there were a few people around the village that she wanted to send cards to.

Lavender hadn't really seen Tracey or Violet since they had moved in, ocassionaly passing them in the corridors or the lift: the usual sort of neighbourly hellos. She remembered the tin of gingerbread that her mother had baked (Hyacinth was a little bored, in Lavender's opinion), thinking that it could probably be put to better use by someone else.

Tracey and Violet,

Happy Christmas!

My mother sent me rather too much festive gingerbread, so I thought that you both might like it. Have a lovely Christmas.

Lavender

It seemed like a good idea to send Blaise a card, but Lavender decided not to pen a message. Besides, when she was less open with him, it appeared to get a far more interesting reaction from him.

Blaise,

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Lavender

Then came Ron's card. It took Lavender a while to think about what to write: she didn't want to come across as too cool and distant, but she didn't really want to be clingy, school girl Lavender like she had years ago. She shuddered involuntarily, thinking of that awful gold necklace.

Ron,

Merry Christmas!

I know it's a day early for presents, Ron, but I thought I'd sent this hamper for you to share with Harry and Hermione (I've enclosed cards for them, too). It's a bit of a hotch-potch selection of things - jam, chutney, some vegetables and some cakes - but I thought you'd enjoy them!

I hope you have a good Christmas. I'll be away at my parents' house for Christmas Day and possibly Boxing Day, but I'd love to see you soon if you're interested.

Lavender

After writing Ron's card, Lavender wrote brief ones to Harry and Hermione, knowing that they lived with him and thinking that it would be rude if she didn't send them one. Sealing the envelopes, Lavender really didn't expect a card in return, but she was a little nervous about their reaction to her relationship (albeit a casual one) with Ron. Sending cards to them seemed like a good idea.

Harry,

Merry Christmas!

Lavender

Hermione

Merry Christmas!
