It was ridiculous to be nervous. It was only a business meeting. But in that moment, Roger could only be glad that he had chosen not to meet with Hermione at Socks. As he passed the entrance to Weasley Way down Alpha Lane, Roger began to wonder idly why he'd not yet taken a route down this road on any of his morning runs. It seemed peaceful, pastoral, and very quiet. The house wasn't difficult to spot, as it was surrounded by so much farmland, and only had one other house just before it on the street. He shifted the portfolio under his arm as he approached the sidewalk leading up to number 35. He hoped that Hermione didn't need to see all of the manuscripts at once, having only brought one each from his mother and father. Roger supposed that this was only a preliminary meeting, at any rate, to see if they would be able to come to an agreement. There would be more talks down the track, he was sure, before anything was finalized.
As he entered the property, Roger froze momentarily, feeling the telltale ripple of a magical ward. Multiple wards, if he was any judge-- and he liked to think that he was. They had to have been disabled, as his movement was not at all encumbered, and his mental faculties still apparently intact. Unless, of course, they were merely wards to detect his presence on the property. Roger doubted it, though. These were simply very strong wards, that, even though they were disabled, he could feel. He could only be impressed by the level of magic as he made his way to the front door.
He took a look down at his clothes, shrugging. This wouldn't be so formal that he was dressed inappropriately, he hoped. The dark denims and button-up he wore under his navy wool car coat were comfortable, but still presentable (he thought, anyway). Shifting the portfolio again to his other arm, Roger lifted the heavy knocker and let it fall again, pleased that he was just exactly on time. So, apparently, was Hermione. He could already smell the coffee.
