Down the street from St. Jude's, there's a tiny deli which sells breakfast to students on their way to school (along with coffee, which is not permitted in class, but will keep you awake during it, blessedly). It's a pretty common place to hit up if you've got a few minutes before the first bell, and so, there you may find Candice, curled up in a

Enfys' coat is a pale beige-y cream sort of color and doesn't fit her quite right, but it keeps her warm walking to and from school. Coffee's not something she ever drinks herself, but luckily the deli has a cheap gumboot tea that she can tolerate, if not particularly enjoy.

"Hello, Lolly," she half-yells it when she catches sight of her friend and modulates her tone with very little repentance at a sharp look from somebody. "Hello!" Tea must be acquired post-haste.

Candice rolls her eyes good-naturedly at the nickname, and lifts her hand in a wave. Apparently she got bored last night and did her nails, judging by the near-perfect French manicure. She doesn't yell across the room, but waits, instead, for Enfys to acquire the aforementioned gumboot tea and come over afterward.

At this point, they're probably used to these two being around in the mornings, around here.

Gumboot tea is, in fact, quickly acquired and Enfys comes over to have a look at Candice's nails. "Pretty," she says, admiringly. Trying to do that herself -- or even having hers done properly -- would be an exercise in pointless futility and she knows it, but she can still appreciate.

Candice grins a bit. "Thanks! I hope it lasts." She takes pretty good care of her nails, yes, and doesn't do carpentry or anything like Enfys does, but step team can mess things up if she's not careful. She moves her bag to give Enfys room across from her in the booth.

"Tired?" Now that smile is a touch rueful. Because neither of them sleep at appropriate hours anymore.

At some point, a scruffy-haired John will make an appearance (he combs it, he swears, it just won't stay down) sipping at a cup of coffee and making faces at some pastry confection that has the dubious honour of becoming his breakfast. What, eat breakfast at home? That would mean sitting at the kitchen table and running the risk of having to engage in conversation with his father. We can't be having that.

He might notice other people in a minute, once the caffeine makes an impact.

Candice spots John and waves at him! Possibly if he comes over she and Enfys will stop being increasingly terrible at each other in girl code.

...however, after she waves, she still turns to Enfys and says, innocently, "I question Garion's ability to work the clutch due to probably having never been in a car before. Anyway, look, there's John."

John probably has no idea why Enfys is choking on her coffee and laughing too hard to wave to him when Candice does.

Oh, hey, girls. Waving and... laughing entirely too much. This requires waving back - and shedding pastry flakes everywhere, since he's not stupid enough to wave with the hand holding the coffee - and walking over to investigate. If he can penetrate the nebulous field of girly giggles with his manliness.

"Morning, girls. What has you two in such good spirits?"
