am i the only person who finds it to be a thing of perverse allure when some random person on the internet demonstrates just how absurd and scary it is to live in a patriarchal culture in one short comment without even trying or even a mote of self-awareness?

It's more or less like screaming into a wind tunnel, it's true. Hasn't stopped me from trying to knock sense into a few folks, but still. I totally went on a fat rant on someone's facebook post to a total stranger the other day. There was no response. :/

I think the important thing to remember is that there is often a random passer-by (creeper) that enjoys/ feels validated/ feels joy when they see a fat rant.

I spent the whole day working at the wedding show next to the weight loss booth, and played fat hate bingo the whole day. I won. Or lost, depending on how you look at it. :P
