ugh, i know, CBC commenters are THE WORST. and CBC.ca allows comments on stories that they really shouldn't, ie. accidental deaths of babies etc. AND they feature that random comment on the front page so you're exposed to comments even if you're specifically trying to avoid them.
i could on for quite a while about what a huge disappointment CBC's online presence is actually. i expect more from our beloved CBC.
I really hate where this is all heading. Stuck waiting and flipping through an issue of Time Magazine there was a story in there about how smokers and fat people are being put in "insurance risk pools" and are made to pay higher premiums unless they quit smoking or lost weight.
I can just see the oily insurance executives rubbing their hands together now. Any little thing that they can use to get you to pay more. :(
As smoking rates tailed off in the U.S., the proportion of smokers among American adults fell from 22.7 per cent in 1993 to 18 per cent in 2008, while obesity rates rose from 14.5 per cent to 26.7 per cent over the same time period.
So basically, smokers quit smoking and gained weight as a result. Don't blame that shit on me, I was fat before it was popular.
