As I reached for the paper this morning, I noticed how light it seemed compared to previous weeks. No wonder, as the Opinion & Book Review section was missing. The one thing I looked most towards at the end of the week is now condensed and tacked onto the back of the paper. I sputtered vile invectives against the owners of the paper and vowed to

Man, all this time I thought the LA Times was one of the premier papers in the US, and it didn't give such things the shaft. Ugh. (That doesn't affect me directly of course - but it annoys me to know that it happens.)

This was going to be a looong comment, but I've just pasted it into the LJ entry instead. Basically, the hometown paper should be the pride of the city. However the quality of the work in the LA Times right now is so sad, you wouldn't be able to distinguish it from a free city newspaper. A few months ago, they reported on rickrolling, I kid you not. Complete with a short Rick Astley interview on their website. Never gonna give you up, indeed.

I can't wait until it's sold to some bored billionaire, even Rupert Murdoch! Maybe then there'll be money for some journalism.

Hahah, oops I see your icon :P You're right. I've been so let down by the Dodgers and the Lakers for so long, whatever support I had left turned into rage. Well, at least Angelenos still have the world-famous Philharmonic and Gehry-designed Disney Hall. Miami is sooo jealous.

Though every time the Bruins get so close in basketball but don't quite make it, my mother calls me up (she's a Bruin supporter) and says, 'Next year. Believe in Coach Wooden!' I'm like, 'Ma! He's not coaching them anymore!'
