For the record, not one of the words that appeared over my head these last few days was true. I would have thought everyone knew better than to trust the Tree's jokes, but apparently I was overestimating all of you

[ By now Lin was somewhat used to having to wait for Sen to show up. Apparently she had a preference for elusive women.
In the meantime, she walked slowly, paying attention to every small sound to make sure she wouldn't run into anyone, and yet paying attention it wasn't Sen she had just avoided each time a person walked by. ]

[Rain hadn't been planning on letting Lin talk him into meeting with her, but he had to admit that the mention of a bubble over her head had him a bit curious. Besides, he had nothing more pressing to do at the moment, and it couldn't hurt to keep his 'skills' sharp.
There was the matter of the talking ferret that had been following him around for the past few days, though. The creature's temperament reminded him quite a bit of Lin, annoyingly enough... the two of them would probably have gotten along. Except that if Lin saw it, she'd know 'Sen' had been lying about the cat.
So, having donned his disguise, he swiftly plucked the ferret from its perch atop his bookshelf - "Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" - and shut it in one of his dresser drawers, although not before it managed to bite his finger.
That ought to keep it out of his hair. Rain slipped out of the spa without being seen, and made his way to section three.]
[ When Sen finally showed up Lin waited behind a corner for a few moments.
She looks really pretty today.
Just enough time to let that thought evaporate. Nobody looked as beautiful as Bastet, of course, but Lin always tended to notice whether a person was ugly or not. And if they were, she'd tell them to their face. If they weren't, she'd try to keep it to herself.
She looked up, then down at her hands, looking for something else to think about.
The scratches Castor left on my hand are still there.
That wasn't good, then she'd have to explain she had a cat named like Castor and that would have been awkward.
I left a window open.
That would work.
She walked towards Sen, greeting her with a nod, immediately locking eyes with her.
Don't look was written over her head, but the woman could probably tell from the way Lin was staring into her eyes, and would have noticed had they moved to look at the bubble over head for even only just a second. ]
You know what not to do. You will walk ahead of me and I will tell you where to go.

[There really was a thought bubble over Lin's head. Smiling as she approached, Rain made a point of looking her in the eyes, and was thus unable to tell what it said, but in his peripheral vision he could at least see that it was there.
It seemed like she'd have to drop her guard quite a bit before he'd be able to sneak peeks at it, though. He'd have to just play along nicely for now. He looked slightly surprised at her command, but nodded and turned to start walking.]
It's kind of you to meet with me like this, even with all these strange things that are going on. [The feminine voice came easily to him by now, as if he'd never forgotten it.] I won't look, but can I ask... what is that bubble? What does it do?
I'm alive... is this Lin?

[Intentionally ignoring that last bit, because of course he doesn't actually want a cat, nor does he want to see Lin.]

I don't know... I really don't want to trouble you. You must have more important things to do, surely?

[Well. If it's one of those thought bubble deals, that changes things. Maybe he does want to see her, now.]
All right, if you're sure you really don't mind. I'll try my best not to look. [lies~] Where should I meet you?

[Of course, it won't be very soon - he has to get all pretty first. Sorry Lin, you'll have to be a bit patient.]
