Makeup Question

I have a friend who has a tattoo on her arm that is inappropriate for her job. She has been covering it up with bandages but the adhesive is not being nice to her skin. I told her i would ask some of my theatrical friends what type of makeup she should use to cover it up since the stuff she bought at wal-mart didn't cover it.

So any suggestions on ( Read more... )

I have to cover my ankle tatt for some acting gigs and let me tell you it's a pain in the ass. And like Mali said, it will rub off. It will also take a lot of time since you have to put the base makeup on, powder, let it set, then another layer, powder, let it set, etc until it is decently covered. And up close, it doesn't look like non-tattooed skin.

I have used derma-blend available at Neiman Marcus or the like...it's what adult dancers used when working clubs that didn't allow ink (mainly the Men's Club at the time)...I didn't dance just had friends that did. And have an ankle tat to cover.

And I will probably use that as an example of why people should be careful about ink (in my talks to teens who know everything)

It's not makeup, but it's effective: I used to have to keep my arm out of sunlight while the scars were healing, so I picked up a bunch of cheap "silk" scarves and would wear them tied about my wrist and then draped around my neck. Works like a charm.
