My headcanon for this is obvs that they slept together for a while, but that they were friends too, so they talked about a lot of things with each other, and were really close. Quinn hated to leave him behind, but she kind of had to so she could just get out, and probably thought that too much time had passed, or that he was mad at her, and didn't think he'd want to see her again, so she never called or anything, but she was still very happy to see him again, and even more so that he was clearly happy to see her as well.
