Back and intact...

May 10, 2009 23:30

...despite United Airline's best efforts, I made it back and intact from ACen. A fun time was had; many photos were taken, and there's blisters on my feet from all the running around for photos. So yeah, I hurt, but it's a good hurt. Drop me a line if I met you and such - I'm bad with remembering contact names ( Read more... )

Off topic, which Crumpler backpack did you end up getting?

I've got the Karachi Outpost (The biggest of the photo backpacks). 30 pounds of gear hauled relatively comfortably. The smaller ones were a bit dicey holding everything.

I figured you got the biggest one =P I think my new strategy with bags is to buy the biggest becuase of the gear I carry too, haha.

Did you just buy it at Vistek? Or at the Crumpler store?

I've wanted/needed a backpack for hiking and trips, but can't decide if I want to go for it or not. The zipper on the back design is key for urban areas and looking inconspicuous.

Did you ever look at the Tenba Large Shootout? This is my alternative choice, since it's got weatherproof zippers and a ton of space/pockets.

Mine was at Crumpler store - they had it in stock and was cheaper than Vistek (it was having a mini-sale then).

Hadn't seen it - looks good as well - space looks comparable, slightly heftier straps on that one.

The backpack design was definitely better on my back - first time in a while I've been able to do that and not have a bad back after. Of course, the extra weight work may have helped too. It fails at inconspicuous when you add a tripod, but still, it's a good design. Two flashes, two lenses, one body, all the little triggers and stuff, a lighting attachment for tripod - all fits not problem and sometime I have to really tweak the storage space, since I haven't yet and there's leftover room.

welcome backkk : DDDDD

by the way, I was wondering if you received an email from maral that should have been forwarded from fingers?

dont know whereelse to put this so i'll put this here OTL...

pretty much the situation is that i want to do masq this year, a group of 5 people, but because of the panel schedule, 3/5 of us wont be able to make it until 6pm because we have a panel scheduled at 5pm, and fingers hasnt been able to adjust it. 2 of the people in our group will be there at 5pm though for sure, so we were wondering if it would be alright if the rest of us made it to the green room at 6ish? ( I read your post on c.com about lateness and the making it into the greenroom before everything "closes") but i was wondering if there would be any way to make an exception? (this message is from fingers)

thankss kevvv D:
