Carrying a stack of papers in her hands, much like the day she found David and Bob in the lab for the first time, Jill came in, her head down, hair tied back, pencil shoved through her ponytail again. Since her talk with David she had been feeling like she should go see Bob, although she wasn't sure that she'd be any help. She looked different, too. It wasn't noticeable to her until Bob was there, until she realized she was tanned and her hair was longer and in her eyes and she was thinner, too. Different enough that she wasn't the Jill that Bob had seen back in the lab and so she'd been sort of avoiding him.
She didn't talk, just slowly walked through the lab, sidestepping people when she needed to, her eyes on her notes. She really missed her laptop.
Bob's looking at his notes, too, even though they mostly consist of how different everything is. He's taken to writing things down in an attempt to make sense of it all and so far his notes consist of observations, like how everyone seems to be a scientist or someone famous or someone not real or someone not even from Earth. And there are the notes from Valentine's Day where Bob got the impression that people were acting even stranger than normal, though he'd done a lot of hiding that day, himself.
Despite the notes, things still weren't really making a lot of sense and he looks up with a sigh, his brows knit in his ever-present look of confusion.
And then he sees Jill. Jill looks different, too, even though he knows it's really her. She's thinner than he remembers, her hair's longer and her skin's darker, but if she's been in this place for two months like she says she has, then that makes sense.
"Hi, Jill," he says as she gets closer and if his voice still sounds a little wary, he doesn't think he can really help that.
Surprised to hear her voice, Jill looked up, half-expecting to see Carson, although she knew that wasn't his voice. It wasn't Carson of course and she smiled slightly when she saw Bob sitting there, looking sort of lost, like he didn't belong there. Which was an awful thing to think, but she'd been thinking a lot about belonging and where they were all meant to be since her talk with Rube.
"Hi, Bob," she said softly, tipping her head slightly to the side to study him. He looked the same as she remembered, but he looked uncomfortable. Nervous. It had been a long time since Jill had seen him look like that around her.
He's rubbing his hands together now and his shoulders are tensed and hunched forward as he looks at her from his seat. It's strange because she looks like Jill, but doesn't at the same time and Bob wonders if it's possible she just has a clone or a sister or something.
David has a clone in this place, Bob's seen him. He's younger than David, though. And seems happier.
"I'm-- I don't--" The corner of Bob's mouth tugs downward a little and he tries again. "How are you?" he asks finally.
