can anyone recommend a good DVD/VCR combo? mine took a dive. : (

I can recommend one not to buy: GoVideo. Ours 'blew up' after a couple of months, which is common to their machines, apparently, and they have dismal support.

But! We bought a Sony DVR after that that has been marvellous. I'm not sure if they make a DVD/VCR combo..? Good luck!

hehe...I would but I've got some VHS tapes that I really can't afford to replace at the moment. and not enough $$$ for a recorder. or one that plays enough formats, like DVD-R, etc.

Gonna agree here. Multi-purpose units in any area typically wind up with low-quality versions of each component.

oh no, I already have a television. avoiding combos makes sense~I did the same thing with my stereo system. the info you posted is not confusing at all. I didn't know anything about video stabilizers. thanks for taking the time to lay it out for me~~ : )
