Oh man, this is gorgeous. I'm here via a rec from secretsolitaire, and I agree with her as she said in her rec, I'm not much into epilogue-generation fic and actually I only started reading HP fic again a few days ago so I'm still getting into the love, but this is one of the most stunning things I've come across. In a way, they are OCs, but you give them the background of Harry and Draco and that gives meaning into a void, but really what I love about this is the writing itself. It's so atmospheric, without being heavy. I love that we don't know at first the history between these two, but we get the sense of pain from the yellow ochre of the street and the overblown roses of August before we know why. I love that they're boys here, boys with all their stupidity and the overwhelmingness of love, the unthinkingness of love, and the tiny crush on Harry, Draco's son. I love the almost-glamor, silver and black and night sparkle of the mindless party, like high riches and mindless youth and May and June. It all adds into the perfect tone and feel.
I'm so touched! Thank you for taking the time to write such a long, thoughtful comment. You've captured all the things I felt I wanted to convey - the insouciance of youth, the assumption of forever, the awkward glamour.
Here via Sansa's rec -- this is just so beautifully written, and the shifts in time well done, that it really gripped me although it's not a pairing I'm particularly taken with on the whole. The evocativeness of the smells, the hopeful ambiguity of the ending, were both lovely. Just all around a lovely fic.
Thank you - I'm so glad you enjoyed! I was a bit uncertain about the ambiguous ending but it's where the fic wanted to go...*shakes head at the foolish boys*
Oh... oh. This is so beautiful, sweet, tender, sensual, evocative- I love this fic to pieces!! You have created a little world which seems so believable and true, and you have given them personality even in so little narrative space. The memory of Scorpius betraying Albus is so well written, I LOVE that you made him think about Al's soft green eyes right then, and I can't even begin to say how heart-warming the description of Al's duvet and what happened underneath it is. This is a story I will treasure for a long time. How I wish that you'd write more!! I'm completely besotted ♥♥♥
Would it be ok for you if I translated it into Italian? I'd totally love to ♥♥ Of course there would be proper references and I could even translate the feedbacks for you :)
aww, this is so beautiful! and utterly believeable. i'm really hoping Albus takes him back, and that Scorpius is never so stupid as to cheat on him again....
