"Company?" asked Kitt from his room. He sounded confused, and Eddie didn't blame him. He stood there behind Michael, and he gave a little bit of a genial smile as he saw Kitt approach.
Kitt looked at Michael, and then at Eddie, with a measure of surprise, but then acceptance. "It's good to see you, Eddie," he said.
And Eddie took him in for a second time. Black hair. Red eyes. For some reason, that made more sense. "It's good to be somewhere besides the bar," Eddie answered.
"He's welcome," said Kitt, and he offered his hand to Eddie.
Eddie's smile became more sure and he shook Kitt's hand gratefully. For some reason, he already felt... freer than he had before. The air was different. And while he could faintly smell pollution outdoors, it proved that this was the real world. "Thank you," he said. "I'm glad to have this opportunity."
"And I trust Michael's invited you to Thanksgiving," Kitt said, looking more at Michael than Eddie. He wasn't aware how domestic it made him sound, but it felt natural.
Michael grinned. "You're lucky he was the first person I saw. We're still gonna have to tell Bonnie who else to invite-- and Eddie's got a friend named John who's coming, Air Force man.
"... Was there someone else," Michael asked, proving he was only human by forgetting what he'd been told not a minute before, "Or was I just remembering you wanting Ray here, too?"

At the least. And they didn't have a DVD player.
