It was falling apart, piece by piece. It had been for a while. He was crazy to think that it wouldn’t happen, to think that she really wanted him, loved him.
He should have known better. After all, he was just the muscle, the dumb guy who couldn’t do anything else but throw his weight around and brandish a weapon.
What could he really do for her or give her? Nothing, absolutely nothing. That’s why she always looked to Wes for help. That’s why he couldn’t save her but Wes could. And that’s why she left him in the end.
