Aww, but this is early Rulesverse. So he does, and all is well. He's definitely dead in 500 years time, but that's long enough for most people.

Oh, this was lovely! I love the letters and the fail at typing from semi-corporeal Spike and everything! Such a nice AU. And not even like, ultra-happy, they still have their share of troubles to work through. So... nice. :-)
