"sniffles"
Spike thought back to William, alone and wanting to love and be loved with the very core of his being, and thought back to his always associating the hound with William, and did something he never thought he would: he turned his back on his intended night of drunken debauchery, lifted the heavy dog in his arms with soothing coos he would deny ever came out of his mouth if questioned, and set out for Revello Drive.
Waaa!

just read this and wanted to say just how much it really fits Spike's character on the show; his uniqueness as a vampire (and I can't help wondering if a great part of that uniqueness; that Humanity was because of Dru's 'insanity', or the fact that she was made that way before she was turned..?), as well as his drag-my-feet-kicking-and-screaming attitude to his growing feelings for the Scoobies, which had very little in the end to do with whatever his feelings for Buffy were.
Oh, and did I say I LOVED IT!
Thank you for this piece of loveliness, especially for the image of Spike using the same calming techniques to help get Dru through her 'horrors' because, after all, not all 'trips' are good ones.
Still under Willow & Tara's spell,
Ray.
