Title: It's Over
Author:
angelus2hotRating: PG
Word Count: 134
Prompt: 180 Elvis(It's Over)
Characters/Pairing: Gunn/Fred
A/N: orginally written for
comment_fic the other day.
The saddest part of a relationship was watching it crumble and being unable or unwilling to stop it.
She'd thought when she'd met Gunn he was it. The man she was destined to be with. It even sounded corny to her but it also sounded safe and after Pylea she'd needed that feeling.
But this was different. This was something she'd needed to do. He said he'd killed the professor because he didn’t want to lose her. He had wanted to save her. But what he didn't understand was she had wanted to save herself.
Fred watched silently as Gunn turned and walked away. She wanted desperately to call him back but she also knew she wouldn't. No matter how many tears she would shed for all that could have been. They were over.
Title: Help Me
Author:
angelus2hotRating: PG
Word Count: 424
Prompt: 180 Elvis(Help Me Make It Through The Night)
Characters/Pairing: Angel/Cordy
Angel stared at the empty crib, despair etched in the lines on his face, his body trembling as he fought for control over the emptiness that loomed over him. His little boy was gone, snatched from his arms by a man thirsty for revenge. Angel wished he'd taken his life instead. He would've gladly stood still and let Holtz drive a stake through his unbeating heart rather than lose his son. But he guessed that was the point.
Oh, God! The pain was unbearable! How was he supposed to go on? More importantly why should he want to?
"Angel?"
Without waiting for an answer Cordy walked into the room and sat down on the bed, her arms wrapped around his shoulders as she leaned her body against his. "Shhh." She didn't know what else to say. 'I'm sorry' seemed so trite and besides it didn't help anything. And it sure as hell wouldn't make Angel feel any better.
"He's just a little guy. He's got to be so scared." He turned to look at Cordy, the only one who could help him. "Help me, Cordy. Please, I don't...I can't...."
"Shhh, Angel. You’re not alone. I'm here." She whispered softly as she kissed away the tears that ran unchecked down his cheek.
Before either of them realized how the atmosphere in the room had changed. Sweet, tender kisses meant to soothe gave way to slow, passionate kisses that melted every reason he’d ever had about why sex with Cordy couldn’t happen.
Making love with Cordelia had always been a fantasy he'd kept locked away in the back of his mind. A secret desire he had never thought would see the light of day and never in circumstances like these. He wished he could have taken the time and wooed her in the right way. He should've taken her to the movies; out to dinner and maybe even a nice drive down the coast to that pretty spot overlooking the ocean that she liked. But tonight he didn't have the luxury of time. Although, he needed her badly, he had to give her one last chance to change her mind while he could.
"Cordy, I shouldn't...I..."
She quickly placed a finger against his lips effectively silencing him. "You need me." It wasn't a question but a statement of fact
Angel placed a kiss on her finger before he whispered. "Yes, I do." His hands shook as he wrapped his arms around Cordy and pulled her closer to his body, accepting the comfort he so desperately needed.
Title: Nonsense and Fairytales
Author:
angelus2hotRating: PG
Word Count: 316
Prompt: 180 Elvis(Crying In The Chapel)
Characters/Pairing: OFC, Angelus
Our Sister of Mercy, a convent outside the smallest, poorest village in Ireland was the home of Sister Mary Francis. A no nonsense nun who brooked no argument and didn't hold to such tales as the ones the other sisters delighted in telling each other. In her mind it was all just a bunch of nonsense and fairytales.
After all of the chores were finished and the sisters had returned from the village, helping out where ever there was a need, they would gather in the chapel after prayers and whisper to each other. Most of the tales were told to scare each other but one tale in particular seemed to have some truth in it. The oldest sisters told of a demon that walked the earth with a face of an angel. They warned their sisters if one such as he knocked on the door they must not give him entry. They all nodded their heads and promised they wouldn't. After all they lived in a convent nothing would harm them there.
On the foulest night of the year a harsh knock sounded, the youngest novice quickly opened the door and to her it looked like an angel of mercy standing before her. She could do no less than offer him comfort from the storm.
Ten minutes later, Sister Mary Francis walked towards the chapel, her sisters’ cries urging her forward. Honestly, and they were supposed to be nuns. "Must you be tellin' those stories every night then?"
"Run, Sister! It's him... the demon."
But Sister Mary Francis knew when she was having her leg pulled. "Go on with the lot of you. You know I don't believe in such nonsense."
Suddenly, an angel stepped out of the chapel and right in front of her eyes his face changed. It was the most horrific thing she'd ever seen. "Would you be believin' now?"
She would.
