Food Chain
Season One-Puppet Show
Teenagers were predators and it amazed Snyder that no one seemed to notice. They prowled his school in cliques, packs and prides hunting down the weak ones, unpopular kids with big ears and unwary school administrators. They were dangerous hormonal time bombs who laughed like hyenas and ate like locusts. There were those who thought that you needed compassion and all that touch-y feel-y crap to deal with them when what you really needed was a whip and a chair. Flutie had thought that, but Snyder wasn’t putting his head in the lion’s mouth. Wooly-headed liberal thinking got you eaten.
School Policy
Season Two
Snyder ran a tight ship. He had to, running a school on the Hellmouth. Order needed to be maintained, and to do that you needed clear rules and swift enforcement. Snyder had zero tolerance for gruesome murders and public displays of affection and a strict attendance policy. Classes were not optional and skipping merited detention or worse. Absences were excused only with a note signed by a parent or a doctor, and a consecutive week of un-excused absences meant they were no longer a student at Sunnydale High. And that wasn’t just because they were usually dead; it was policy.
Stoked
Third Season-Band Candy
He was so stoked! For once, Snyder got to hang out with the cool kids. He’d never thought of the librarian like that, but tonight with the attitude and the smokes he was the Fonz only British. Joyce was hot, but Summers was beyond cool. She took charge and didn’t take no, drove like a spaz and beat up old guys. She was more wonder woman than Lynda Carter ever was. Helping Summers was almost like being her friend, except she had those so she didn’t need him. Come Monday though, Snyder could get them, ‘cause he was the principal.
Staying Dry
Season Three
Springtime in Sunnydale; warm weather and youthful high spirits. Snyder did not approve. Running a school on the Hellmouth was hard enough without skimpy spring fashions, frisbees in the courtyard and increased class cutting. The school had its share of unfortunate incidents year round, but April showers usually brought chaos flowers, and by finals scandals and murders popped up like weeds. Well, this year it wouldn’t do, not the centennial year. Snyder would have to keep a close eye on Summers, crack down on gum chewers and maybe when the trouble rained down he wouldn’t be the one getting wet.
