Should I go see Avatar?

I mean, I really just don't want to, but I'm not immune to the hype people. Yeah, the blue people are majorly aesthetically unpleasing, but give me a good forbidden love story and I'm in. It could be singing pencils and as long as there's some sort of anthropomorphizing force that causes them to fall in love I will be there with bells on ( Read more... )

go see it! i loved it, and the love story is pretty epic. plus, the blue people start to look pretty okay once you get used to them.

besides, i feel like this movie really really should be seen on the big screen, it's so visually lush and immersive.

oh look at me, on livejournal. it's been so long, lj, how have you been?

no opinion on the movie; i'm just not a big movie buff, so i'm wonderfully immune to almost any hype (don't worry, i make up for it tenfold when a new song comes out). gwen is opposed to it b/c it's going to outdo titanic's world grossing record, and titanic is her first movie love so she's emotionally invested in her opposition to anything that can top it.

Jimmy Cameron said if it outsold Titanic he would just make Titanic 2 in 3D. It would make billions!

I enjoyed Avatar. If you see it, it should definitely be in 3D. It's worth it.

I'm currently more excited to see Tom Ford's debut feature A Single Man

I thought it was well done if a bit slow at times. All the acting was very good.

The thing about 3D is that my eyes are wonky and I've never been able to see 3D before. Nina insists the glasses are different now so we'll see.

They're different glasses. It's like wearing sunglasses and not the old school paper 3-D ones or the weird plastic ones that IMAX uses.
