Stop cringing Christo, I was being phonetic! I've decided to brush up on my foreign languages since evidently I'll be speaking Russian from now on. redcoast? You're usually on top of this stuff. xpashax? Anything? I haven't had a chance to read the comment threads yet, but I cannot WAIT!

I don't know anything this time, just that I'm not surprised. LJ is enormously popular in Russia, apparently. My favorite story is that of fighting married couple; the wife took her husband off her friend's list to punish him. It wouldn't surprise me that a Russian company would want to acquire it.

"Wost Est Ist Mein Livejournal" means something like "Wost [which doesn't mean anything] it is my livejournal?" Or maybe "Where eat is my livejournal?"

I already wrote about it if that's what you mean.

The long and short of it, Aleksandr Mamut = Russian Oligarch/Mafia type, owns SUP, which took over Russian LJ services in October, and now the rest of LJ this December. A seperate US company called Livejournal will be created to administrate US services. This will probably not effect you unless you're a Russian dissident. For myself, I have a permenant account, so I'll ride it out and back up my LJ periodically just in case.

You never have to read the comments, the following is always found in the comments: "The world is ending.", "This is horrible.", "You guys are fascists.", "LJ is evil.", "I'm leaving LJ.", ad nauseum.

The very first thread had a huge heading that said THE DIRT ABOUT SUP! I really hope it's not deleted. At the very least someone in wank or stupid_free has got to have some screencaps.
