Still entirely too busy for life, but wanted to take a minute to tell y'all to make sure to do something nice for a survivor of breast cancer, decorate the resting place of someont who didn't, give to a charity that supports it. My mother had breast cancer twice in both breasts and many people that I love have been taken by it. If you need an ( Read more... )

Where I live, they have like those ribbon things you can buy with a donation and put your name on it and it goes up on the wall. I have a donation box weakness so I'm always putting money in tins and stuff. I'd love to afford more but at least I'm giving a little every time I hit a box. My mom always gives a few bucks when she runs into one.

Giant usually has these little tickets (I forget for which cause, cancer in general I think) and you have a scratch-off part where you win a free something in the store, and then two other chances to win for bigger prizes. They're only a dollar a piece and you ALWAYS win something on them. I think that's a cool way to get people to donate. Most of the stuff you win is well over $1 you spend on the ticket.

Oh and my dad gives out of every paycheck for cancer charities, yay!

I hate when you get some people who say they don't wanna give ANYTHING, EVER. Like it has to take knowing someone with a disease before they realize something needs to be done to fight it.

Exactly! I get where people are trying to come from when they say stuff like that, but it never fully adds up. I think the breast cancer one is the most stylish though ;) Hey, if you're going to lose both your breasts and all your hair, you might as well have a cute pink ribbon or scarf to wear, right?

Stupid cancer, but I do love that October brings out the best in people. I wish I had more time to write about it, but just replying to comments wears me out!

BUT I LOVE IT SO DON'T STOP! ;))))

Unless you're a guy who happens to have breast cancer and you have to wear pink, hehe!

I know several men that could pull off pink! Our Stephen could pull of pink! HEE! I'm sure for some of our members he could pull off a lot more than that ;)
