Wow. That was very touching.
If only we could do such things for the many people in such similar positions as Sherlock is in this story.

Yeah, the world definitely needs a few more John Watsons...

That was so lovely. Sad, but at the same time really positive. John was brilliant with the amount of attention he gave Sherlock, and the amount of attention he could draw out of Sherlock. A beautiful story.

Thank you! I can't imagine it would be easy to be an orderly for someone as independent as Sherlock, trying to find the line between doing too much and too little- I'm glad John was able to find the balance.

Oh wow. That was very touching, and beautifully-written. May I ask, did you have in your head as you were writing a particular reason why Sherlock was in the home? Just curious :)

Thank you! The prompt itself was pretty specific in describing Sherlock's condition: ...some form of early onset dementia, has been in a full-time care home since the age of 25, can't speak or write, has extreme motor impairment, can't perform daily self-care functions though he tries. Although I can't say I had a definite condition in mind, I tried to portray the general sense of his condition without delving too deep into the medical side of things.
