Wisconsin in the news

Do you know anything more about the "66% of corporations in WI don't pay taxes" thing?

In theory, that's incorrect. The business tax is supposed to be 8%, which is actually one of the highest rates in the country. (For example, there was a big stink in Illinois recently when it raised the business tax to a whopping...5% OMG!!!11.) Property taxes are also fairly high, though the sales tax is slightly below average.

In practice, there are so many loopholes, exemptions, and so on, that practically nobody pays the full 8%. Like I said, the tax system here is FUBAR.
