It really did seem like my last post was an April Fool's joke, didn't it? I thought so, too, until I looked into it. Sure enough, Oregon has introduced a bill (HB 2638, Thompson) that will start a pilot project designed to improve the health of state workers by installing treadmills at their desks ( Read more... )

I''ve actually heard of this kind of desk a while back. I knew some finess buffs who had desks they could walk at. I think we're talking a very slow leisurely walk here. Though how one would type and walk, I have no idea.

You could probably read the screen while doing the slow walk, and stop whenever you had to type. But that's not as funny.

I've also seen desks that can be raised to standing height. Some people seem to like the change of position for a few hours a day.

i like your p7 idea. and i don't see how one could actually work at a treadmill desk. a desk where i could alternate between sitting and standing would be cool. there are also those bouncy type chairs for what they call 'active' sitting - those can be fun.
