LiveJournal Erases Porn, Sex... and Fandom.

shaggirl was looking at my ancient post on the Bloglines fiasco, where I have a link to LiveJournal's most popular interests page.

She noticed "porn" and "fanfiction" were no longer appearing as top interests, which she found odd, and left me a comment: Could that many people have deleted those interests as a result of the fall-out [...] or has LJ ( Read more... )

Ha! I'm now going to make my interests "swear words" and "inappropriate touching." Take that LiveJournal.

I don't think we can influence the outcome by altering our interests.

My hunch is that 6A/SUP will not attempt to totally rid LiveJournal of us -- that, after all, would be a lot of work. Instead, they'll settle for making us invisible through things such as the "voluntary" adult content setting and the flagging tool.

This brings up a question I've had; why is 6A/SUP so bothered by fandom? I thought that unless you were involved with fandom, you didn't know about it. I've always seen it as kind of an underground community that's not vying for attention, so why bother with us?

Am I the only paranoid one who thinks we're going to get 'pornish-pixies' mark two sooner or later - no doubt aimed at SPN or Torchwood fandom?

It wasn't on the list.

I just noticed yaoi is gone. It was on there.
